Hello there! My name is Amanda. I’m a realist painter and painting teacher to children at my private studio in Austin, Texas. I am also a small business owner with an employee of one: ME. That means I wear all the hats: teacher, accountant, website designer, marketing manager, and now BLOGGER! The purpose of this blog is to share with you things I think are useful or interesting regarding oil painting and drawing. This will include things like drawing and painting tips, product reviews, books I find helpful, artist I like, a few of my own paintings, maybe a demo or two, art movies, articles, art history, creativity exercises, local art events and so on. My goal is to have a little something for everyone, whether you are a student of mine, a parent of a budding artist, or not an artist at all but just think art is cool.
What I won’t include: pictures of my food, gratuitous selfies, or rambling blogs that never reach the point. In fact, my goal is to keep each blog post short and sweet so you can read them during a bathroom break or a particularly long traffic light. That being said, this concludes the first blog post. If you’d like to read my second one about what I think you should be buying the young artists in your life click here.
Thanks for reading and come back soon!
Much love,
Amanda
